Greetings, ODU Alumni! |
| |
It's been an exciting year for the ODU Black Alumni Chapter as we've celebrated our 20th Anniversary!
Throughout the years many things have changed at Old Dominion University: the campus has become more residential, more minority students attend ODU than ever before and the university has established an African-American studies program. The Hugo A. Owens African American Cultural Center–once a campus staple for black students–no longer stands, but remains in spirit within the newly-opened Office of Intercultural Relations at Webb Center.
Among all these changes, one thing has remained consistent: our group has remained a voice and resource for minority students and alumni of the university. As we have hosted events, connected current students with alumni and endowed the Ronald L. Horne Scholarship Fund, our chapter has played a large role in the changes at ODU.
So where do we go from here? As we look to the next 20 years, the BAC will continue to connect our alumni to the university as well as support ODU's vision both on campus and in our hometowns. But it cannot happen without your help.
We look to you to help define and then continue our efforts for the next generation. We welcome your thoughts and ideas as we begin the next 20 years. Send us an email and attend an upcoming event to share with us in person.
The Black Alumni Chapter is here to connect you with ODU, to support you and to play a role in the life of the university. Join us and be a part of our next 20 years!
