| On Thursday, October 21 The Alumni Association will honor nine individuals at our 2010 Alumni Honors Dinner. Nancy Lieberman ’80, James Taylor ’78, William I. Foster III ’78, George Thomas Coker, Dwight C. Schaubach, Thomas A. DiCillo '75, Kenneth G. Stepka '74, Richard B. Thurmond '76 and Ting Xu '88 (M.S. | Sailapalooza: Sharing the Sport & Supporting a Good Cause |
ODU's sailing team has long been known for its championship student athletes and coaches. They're also working on a reputation for their big hearts.
On Friday, October 22 – from noon to sunset – ODU sailors and coaches will offer free sailing lessons and sailing rides as part of an effort to introduce more individuals to the sport. Donations will be accepted on behalf of Operation Smile, a non profit located in Hampton Roads and dedicated to repairing childhood facial deformities and building sustainable healthcare systems worldwide.
Bring the entire family to see why Monarchs love the sport. As Head Coach Mitch Brindley says, "Sailing is a great way to put a smile on anyone's face.” |
